Texas District Church Extension Fund announces a special promotion for subscriptions to its electronic newsletter, Extension Extra. From now until September 30, 2009 CEF will pay $1 for every new subscription to Extension Extra. Payments will be made in October 2009 to the congregation credited for the subscription at sign up. To subscribe go the CEF's website, www.TexasCEF.org, click the link "Subscribe to Extension Extra" and follow the directions. Tell the investors and potential investors in your congregation about this great opportunity to get news about CEF and to raise money for your congregation.
Work has begun for the congregation's new sanctuary. A construction driveway has been created and the select fill for the foundation has been delivered and compacted. The next steps will be installation of plumbing and electrical that goes in/under the slab.
The new chancel area has its sheet rock installed and taped. The framing for the raised floor is almost complete. The congregation's 24,000 square foot addition will provide worship, fellowship and classroom space.
White Texas limestone is being used for the exterior of the congregation's new sanctuary. The 500 seat worship facility will provide this growing group much needed space.

The goal of the Texas District LCMS is to begin 200 new Word and Sacrament ministries in Texas between 2004 and 2017. To date there have been 36 congregation starts.

Building Fund accounts are for congregations for the construction of new facilities and other similar projects. Deposits may be made at anytime (minimum $10). Withdrawals for construction, debt payment, or other similar projects may be made anytime without penalty. This account earns a premium interest rate. The interest rate may be adjusted at any time. For more information see the Offering Circular, and Terms and Conditions. To open a new Building Fund account, complete a Congregation Investment Application.

The fellowship area in the congregation's new building is open to the second floor. In addition to this space the construction will also provide more classroom space.
An annual spring BBQ is a big event for the folks at Zion. The gathering provides both fellowship and outreach opportunities. The new, larger, building will permit them to accommodate even more people.
